Packaged Pumping Stations
Tricel supplies packaged pumping stations for foul water, sewage and greywater applications, with solutions for domestic, residential, commercial and agricultural projects. Our team works with leading pump manufacturers and selects the station around the wastewater type and site.
01
Packaged Pumping Station Range
From domestic below-ground stations to project-specific systems, the right solution depends on the wastewater type, required flow, pumping head and site conditions.
Below-Ground Pumping Stations
Complete Chamber Solutions
INSTALLATION
Below ground
WASTEWATER
Foul water and sewage
PUMPS
Single, multiple or backup pumps, as required
Below-ground packaged pumping stations collect wastewater in a chamber and pump it to a higher drain, sewer or treatment system. Tricel manufactures GRP pumping station chambers, including 1,000-litre and 1,600-litre domestic stations.
Greywater Pumping Stations
Wastewater from Non-Toilet Sources
INSTALLATION
Selected to the site
WASTEWATER
Greywater
PUMPS
Selected to the application
For greywater from buildings, sheds or outhouses that are not connected to the main drain, a packaged station collects the water and pumps it to a suitable discharge point. Greywater stations are not a substitute for a foul water station.

From established manufacturers, selected to duty
For larger or non-standard projects, a packaged pumping station can be configured around the hydraulic, wastewater and site requirements, with tanks, pipework, valves and control equipment selected as one system. See bespoke pump systems.

Where a standard package does not suit the application, Tricel offers customised pump solutions designed around specific operating parameters such as flow, pressure, the liquid handled, available space and operating requirements.
Complete Wastewater Pumping Solutions
When Gravity Drainage Isn’t Possible
A packaged pumping station collects wastewater at a low point and automatically pumps it to a higher-level drain, sewer or treatment system. Depending on the project, the station combines the tank, pumps, pipework, valves, level controls and monitoring equipment into one coordinated solution. A float switch starts the pump at a set level, and an alarm can be added where the project requires it.
02
Packaged Pumping Station Applications
Foul Water
Pumping wastewater containing sewage where gravity discharge is not possible.
Greywater
Collection and pumping of wastewater from suitable non-toilet sources.
Commercial Buildings
Packaged wastewater solutions for commercial premises where gravity drainage is not possible.
Residential & Low-Lying Developments
Wastewater pumping for individual properties and developments that sit below the available sewer.
Agricultural Sites & Outbuildings
Pumping from sheds, outhouses and other buildings that are not connected to the main drain.
Pumping to Treatment Systems
Lifting wastewater to a treatment system or septic tank installed at a higher level.
03
Choosing the Right Packaged Pumping Station
Every pumping station should be selected around the wastewater type, hydraulic requirements and site conditions.

Wastewater Type & Applicable Standards
The EN 12050 series covers wastewater lifting plants for buildings and sites. Part 1 covers lifting plants for wastewater containing faecal matter; Part 2, published in Ireland as I.S. EN 12050-2, covers faecal-free wastewater. The applicable standard should be confirmed according to the wastewater type and project requirements, together with the Building Regulations and the project drainage design.

frequently asked questions
What is a packaged pumping station?
A packaged pumping station collects wastewater or drainage water and automatically pumps it to a higher-level drain, sewer or treatment system where gravity flow is not possible.
When do I need a pumping station?
A pumping station is typically required where the drainage outlet is below the available sewer or discharge point, or where the site layout prevents reliable gravity drainage.
What is the difference between foul water and greywater?
Foul water includes wastewater containing sewage or faecal matter. Greywater generally refers to wastewater from suitable non-toilet sources. The station and pump configuration should be selected for the actual wastewater type.
Should I use a single or twin pump station?
The correct arrangement depends on expected flow, application and redundancy requirements. Multiple or backup pumps can be installed where the project requires them; the final configuration is established during selection.
Can Tricel supply a bespoke pumping station?
Yes. Tricel designs and supplies custom pumping solutions, and a packaged pumping station can be selected around the wastewater type, hydraulic duty, site conditions and control requirements.
Packaged Pumping Stations in Ireland
Tricel supplies packaged pumping stations across Ireland for foul water, sewage and greywater applications. Because each station must match the wastewater it handles, foul water pumping stations, including sewage pumping stations in Ireland that discharge to a treatment system, are selected separately from greywater pumping stations.
Solutions range from domestic below-ground packaged pump stations to bespoke wastewater pump stations for commercial, residential and agricultural projects. Our team can help assess the required flow, pumping head, wastewater type, site conditions and control requirements, and then install, commission and maintain the station.
For individual pumps and drainage equipment, see wastewater pumps and drainage. For existing wastewater pumping stations, see pump service and maintenance and pump repair kits.
