01

Grundfos Pressure Boosting Range

Grundfos offers pressure boosting solutions from light-commercial water supply to larger commercial, industrial and water-supply systems.

SINGLE-PUMP BOOSTERS

Hydro Solo-E variable speed booster pump designed for efficient water pressure management in commercial, residential, and industrial water supply systems.

Hydro Solo-E

Single-Pump Commercial Booster

CONFIGURATION
Single variable-speed pump

SPEED CONTROL
Constant-pressure control with flow estimation

BEST FOR
Commercial water pressure boosting and distribution

A fully optimised single-pump booster set for systems where constant pressure is essential, with plug-and-pump installation. A compact choice where a multi-pump set is not needed.

Grundfos Hydro MPC pressure boosting system with multiple pumps and intelligent control for maintaining constant water pressure in commercial and industrial buildings.

CMBE

Compact Pressure Booster

CONFIGURATION
Single variable-speed pump

CONTROL
Integrated speed control with pressure sensor

BEST FOR
Domestic and light-commercial water supply

A high-efficiency compact booster for clean-water supply and pressure boosting. A pressure sensor detects changes in consumption and the integrated speed control adjusts the pump to keep pressure constant.

MULTI-PUMP BOOSTER SETS

Grundfos Hydro MPC pressure boosting system with multiple pumps and intelligent control for maintaining constant water pressure in commercial and industrial buildings.

Hydro MPC

Advanced Multi-Pump Pressure Boosting

CONFIGURATION
2 to 6 parallel pumps (CU 352 versions)

CONTROL
Central controller: CU 352 or GENIECON

BEST FOR
Complex buildings, industrial processes and water utilities

Grundfos’s premium pressure-boosting range. A central controller manages the pumps to hold stable pressure as demand changes. Versions include Hydro MPC-E and Hydro MPC-F.

Grundfos Hydro Multi-E pressure boosting system with multiple variable speed pumps for delivering reliable, energy-efficient water pressure in commercial and industrial water supply applications.

Hydro Multi-E

Integrated-Control Multi-Pump Booster

PUMPS
2 to 4 frequency-controlled pumps

CONTROL
Built into the pumps; no separate control unit

BEST FOR
Apartments, hotels, hospitals, schools and irrigation

A plug-and-pump booster set in which the pumps communicate with each other. Any pump can act as the controlling unit, so the set keeps running if a sensor or pump fails. It can be monitored with the Grundfos GO app.

Grundfos CMBE Twin pressure boosting system with dual variable speed pumps for maintaining consistent water pressure and improved system reliability in domestic and commercial applications.

CMBE TWIN

Compact Twin Booster

PUMPS
2 CMBE pumps in parallel on one base plate

CONTROL
Integrated speed control in each CMBE

BEST FOR
Light-commercial water supply

A compact twin booster with two CMBE boosters connected in parallel, designed to provide constant water pressure in light-commercial applications

Advanced Commercial Pressure Boosting

Grundfos Hydro MPC

For larger or more demanding duties, Hydro MPC combines two to six pumps with a central controller focused on stable pressure, energy efficiency and system monitoring. Grundfos positions it as its premium pressure-boosting range for complex buildings, industrial processes and water-supply installations.

GENIECON

Latest multi-pump controller, succeeding the CU 352

10-inch touch display

Guided set-up and system analysis

BMS ready

BACnet, Modbus and EtherNet/IP

02

Pressure Boosting Applications

Commercial Buildings

Reliable water pressure as demand changes across offices, schools and other commercial properties.

Hotels & Apartment Buildings

Consistent pressure across multi-storey buildings with varying periods of demand.

Water Supply & Distribution

Boost clean-water pressure where the available supply pressure is insufficient.

Industrial Water Supply

Controlled water pressure for industrial processes, cleaning systems and production facilities.

Water Treatment

Pressure boosting for clean-water transfer and water-treatment applications.

Irrigation

Maintain the required pressure for commercial and larger irrigation systems.

03

Choosing the Right Pressure Boosting Set

The right booster set depends on how much water is required, the available incoming pressure and how demand changes throughout the system.

Factor
What we need to know
Required flow
How much water must the system deliver during normal and peak demand?
Required pressure
What outlet pressure is needed at the system or the furthest point of use?
Incoming pressure
What pressure is already available from the mains supply or break tank?
Demand profile
Is demand fairly constant, or does it vary significantly through the day?
Redundancy
Must supply continue if one pump is unavailable?
Controls & connectivity
Is simple pressure control enough, or is BMS or remote monitoring required?
Application
Hotel, apartment building, industrial facility, water treatment or another use?

04

Comparing the Grundfos Pressure Boosting Range

The main differences are the number of pumps, the level of control and the type of application. Use this as a starting point before final selection.

Replacing an Existing Booster Set?

If you have an existing Grundfos booster set, such as a Hydro Multi-B, we can assess the installation and advise on servicing or a suitable current replacement. Send us the nameplate details, system information and required duty.

frequently asked questions

What is a pressure boosting set?

A pressure boosting set uses one or more pumps to increase and control water pressure where the available supply pressure is not sufficient for the building or system.

Typically where incoming pressure is too low or unstable, where water must reach upper floors, or where changing demand causes unacceptable pressure variation.

Hydro Multi-E has no separate control unit: its two to four pumps communicate with each other and any pump can take over control. Hydro MPC uses a central controller, CU 352 or the newer GENIECON, and is Grundfos’s premium range for complex buildings, industrial processes and water-utility installations.

Selection depends on required flow, outlet pressure, available inlet pressure, the demand profile, redundancy requirements and the level of control needed.

Yes. If you have an existing Hydro Multi-B booster set, send the pump nameplate details, system information and required duty to our pump team. We can review the installation and advise on servicing or a suitable current replacement.
